This is a cute picture. The message and name of Jesus is so powerful, and to see it in the hand of this precious little Honduran girl is so moving. The sign says, “Jesus is the way out”, a reference to John 14:6 where Jesus says, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, No man commeth to the Father but by me.” Are you in the Lord’s army? My friend Willy, along with his congregation, put on a special event during the morning hours Sunday, 9 AM to 1:30 PM, to preach the Gospel to the community. They held the event at the municipal park located in the center of town where there are a lot of people. I joined them to help with witnessing. With only a few minute notice Willy asked me to take the microphone and preach. After just a short 25 minutes of personal salvation testimony and an evangelistic message from John 3:1-19, with a call to repentence, two people were pricked in their hearts to call upon Jesus to deliver them from their sin. We praise the Lord Jesus and give glory to God for the fruit that came from the preaching of the Word. This is a good start in San Juan Pueblo. I pray it encourages you as much as it does us. Please pray for us as we follow up. If you would like to help us, click the Get Involved button below. Blessings! (1 Cor. 15:58)Get Involved
One vehicle is what we depend on to get back and forth to our ministry areas. You can nurse bad battery connectors and an old battery only so long as you wait for that special love offering that never comes. Eventually it catches up to you. It was after dark during an emergency grocery store run, when the battery just pooped out on me. Yes I had to call a friend to come and use my jumper cables for the first time. That got me home. I had to park on the street for the night in order to get a jump start from someone in the morning to go into town and get a new battery. In the morning I was greeted by a flat tire too. I got my jump start and used my air pump to breath life back into the tire and went into town. I got the new battery and terminals for $137. Fortunately the tire could be patched, although the leak was on the sidewall. I was so glad I was able to save the tire for now. It went flat on me twice before I was able to get it to a repair shop. I stopped as quick as I could to avoid ruining the tire. Being stranded with mechanical problems on the mission field is pretty tough. You praise the Lord no matter what, but especially for every little thing that goes in your favor. Every place I was stranded, or having to make an emergency stop, was far better than some. I praise the Lord for that. Now I am still praying for that special love offering. I think the truck is safe to drive to our ministry area for now. Thank you Jesus that you promise to never leave us, nor forsake us. Back to soul winning.Get Involved
This week was the start of ministry to San Juan Pueblo. We prayed and asked the Lord’s blessing on our efforts and went out by faith to minister to the gospel. While making a stop at a local business, I asked the person behind the counter about the churches in San Juan. I learned that there are a few churches here and actually one Independent Baptist Church. Next stop was a private Christian School that we happened to drive past. We felt led go inside to make an introduction and ask about their ministry and about local churches. Turns out that the Lord was leading us. The Baptist Church pastor worked at the school and we came by at the perfect time to have a good long meeting. With the Holy Spirit’s leading in this meeting, we got off to a good start to minister the Gospel and further the steps toward the vision to plant a church in the area of San Juan. Very exciting! John 10:27 says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” God speaks in a still small voice that is unmistakably His. Hearing the voice of the Good Shepherd is one of many of the blessings that a born again believer enjoys. It is a necessity to pray for and develop a hearing ear, especially as a missionary. Late one evening I heard His voice speak to me saying, “Get up and check for bugs.” You need to understand that here we are subject to invasions of tropical critters and not just an occassional ant or roach. That is why I responed to this voice immediately and went and turned the light on in the bathroom. Expecting to see a roach, I was surprised to find a very large scorpion instead. Even though I am still wondering how the scorpion came in, I am more occupied in my thoughts toward the encouragement of God speaking to me about it. The scorpion was about 4 1/2 inches long.
We hand out copies of the Gospel of John in Spanish. On the inside and back covers there are some simple study helps for the reader to understand the contents of the Gospel of John. Jesus did many miracles, but only seven are recorded in the Gospel of John. John 20:31 says, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.” I like to whet people’s appetite by talking about chapter one. People here in Honduras are generally very talkative. I had a great witness to 3 teenage guys recently as an example. I gave them each a copy of the gospel of John and began to direct them to a few chapters and verses. They opened them right up and proceded to read and answer questions. They were very respectful. I know a person will be more likely to read, and actually do, the lessons that are in the front and back covers if they are first guided into the the scriptures.
A Honduran pastor friend of mine invited me to preach his church’s 24th aniversary service recently. It was a blessing to bring the message. This is what we have to look forward to when the Lord supplys the funds. We pray that day will come soon.Get Involved
Here I am meeting a couple of precious children at a nearby children’s home ministry. We paid a visit to talk with the North American man who heads up the ministry to learn about the operation and the needs. He has been working with rescued Honduran children for almost 3 decades. I love these ministries when they have a gospel-first attitude.
Children suffer so much here in Honduras. Many are born to unwed teenage mothers and consequently face a very bleak future. The cycle of this type of life can only be changed by people coming to true trusting faith in Jesus Christ and leaving the life of sin. Bringing this gospel message is what we do to bring about the necessary life choice changes. Lord we pray that you will work through us to spiritually build Christian homes. Time is running out.

Here on the mission field we fight a battle against powers and principalities in the heavenly realm and not against flesh and blood. I learned of one of these spiritual battles and I would like to share it with you so that you can know the power of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. There is a family I know that had their youngest daughter victimized by witchcraft through a domestic worker. According to the father, the little girl was demon possessed for about three years and was only just recently delivered from the demon spirit by the authority of Jesus Christ. The dad told me that the little girl could not sleep for more than 30 minutes a night before awakening screaming. She would growl and use curse words that had never been spoken in their home. In addition, the dad said his little daughter had super human strength and that he could not break her grip. The dad told me that he and his wife did seek a therapist, but he knew in his heart that this was not going to deal with the real problem. He knew his daughter was possessed and did not know how to deal with this. With the situation going into its third year, the dad and mom began to pray for someone to help him. That’s when he remembered a very humble Christian lady from his hometown that he was certain could help him get deliverance for the little girl. Just a couple of weeks later the dad took a bus ride with his daughter back to his hometown and found the lady. She invited two more of Christian friends to come over and help her pray. After fifteen minutes of prayer nothing happened, but then the lady felt led to read a Psalm and then she proceeded to sing the Psalm. The dad told me that the Holy Spirit manifested and with authority, in the name of Jesus, the demon was cast out. I don’t know what Psalm was being read, but I want to make reference to Psalm 22:3 as an example to help understand what took place. Psalm 22:3 says, “But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.” If they broke out singing a verse like this, it is easy to see how the Holy Spirit would manifest. The little girl, who is five now, is very sweet and with great enthusiasm sings the children’s song, “I’m in the Lord’s Army.” It is so awesome to have the victory in Jesus that gives us deliverance from Satan. We proclaim the gospel of Jesus and pray that we will see people delivered from bondage to Satan.Get Involved
Just as Paul preached in Athens, we too preach here in Honduras the same message of salvation and hope by faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. God is calling all men [all people] to repent and to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. The need for faith in Jesus is so obvious here. May the Lord give us power in the preaching as we go out to evangelize. Please contact us to find out how you can help win souls for Christ.Get Involved
