We give thanks to the Lord Jesus for the blessing to be with an Independent Baptist in Katy, Texas, for their missions conference this week. This brings us one more step closer to our departure from the US soil towards the mission field. Whereas November was truly a month to give thanks unto the Lord, December is shaping up to be a bountiful month with an opportunity to travel to Mexico City with an evangelist. I have had a desire to evangelize in Mexico City and visit missionaries there for several years now, and it looks like that will happen for me this month. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Trip to Northwest Arkansas – 11/5/14
Arkansas is really beautiful this time of year with the fall colors in full swing. It was a perfect time to travel and make a connection with a couple of churches in the Northwest part of the state. A Baptist Church in Springdale and another in Rogers gave us such a wonderful reception. We praise God for them.
Also, we want to give God praise for the invitation from a Baptist Church in Katy, Texas, today to be included in their missions conference in December. What a blessing this is as we walk by faith.
I Surrender All. – 10/30/14
1 John 4:19 “We love him [God] because he first loved us.” Since God has already taken the initiative and shown his love for us by sending his son to die for us, we have only one reasonable response and that is to repent, call on the Lord Jesus for forgiveness and surrender all to him. The song says, “All to Jesus I surrender, All to him I freely give, I will ever love and trust him, In his presence daily live.” Surrendering is a daily task and not just a one time event. We recently came face to face with something that we needed to surrender to the Lord. This “certain” thing just did not seem to be working out in God’s plan for us at this time, so we came to the reality that we had to “surrender all” of this thing to the Lord. Upon doing so, our hearts began to be overwhelmed with a sense of relief and peace. It was at this point that we began to pray toward the things that remained, especially regarding the missions call. Immediately God began to bless that very same day with referrals to churches for presenting ministry. God is so good. His love endures forever.
Honduras trip interruption turns to a soul winning event 8/22/14
Being in a foreign country makes you subject to interruptions in your schedule. With the Lord these moments sometimes become opportunities. An interruption that turned into an opportunity happened when I had to make a phone call to AT&T due to my cell service being interrupted in the middle of our trip. The young man I spoke to in Virginia happened to ask what country I was in and what I was down there for. Next thing you know I was witnessing to the young man about Jesus and ended up leading him in prayer as he repented and asked Jesus to save him. Thank you Jesus for the soul that was saved.
Leap of Faith 8/04/2014
Hebrews 11:6 says, “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Friends, there are a couple of kinds of faith: 1) There is the faith in God that saves you (Acts 16:31); and 2) the faith of God that is the Christian’s life in motion and action to accomplish the will of God (Galatians 2:20 and Ephesians 2:10). By the unction of faith through the Spirit of God we are taking that step of faith this month toward Honduras to find our place to live. We will be selling our US home and, Lord willin, we will be in Honduras full time sometime during the month of September. Please pray for us that we will have a safe trip, find the right home in Honduras and get the necessary things in place that we will need to live. The faster these things get done, the sooner we can focus on the work of the ministry. Pray that God will open doors for presenting the ministry in order for us to continue to gain supporters.
Blessings! (1 Timothy 6:12)
Visiting Pensacola area pastors: July 17, 2014.
We are in Pensacola, Florida for a few days trying to introduce ourselves to a few local pastors and lay the ground work for their consideration of us to present the ministry at some point in the future. Please pray for us that the spirit of the Lord will both guide us and open doors to make this trip fruitful. Over the past five weeks I have been meeting with different pastors in Houston, Friendswood, Katy and Conroe. I praise the Lord for a church in Conroe that is giving me the opportunity to present to both their Spanish and English congregations on August 24th. Thank you for your prayers and email us to let us know that you are praying for us.
Blessings, – (1st Tim. 6:12 “Fight the good fight of faith”)
Honduras Trip May 13-16, 2014
My trip to Honduras to meet with my friend, Pastor Jorge, was a success. We traveled to the region of Colón for me to be introduced to some of the local pastors (one pictured above) for future collaborative work when my wife and I return to Honduras full time. The coastal town of Trujillo is an area of strong consideration for us for starting a new ministry work. The vacant church building pictured above, Lord willing, will be the place we see a new church begin.
Church at El Porvenir – I had the great pleasure of seeing the foundation being laid for the first church building ever in the neighborhood of Pico Bonito in the town of El Porvenir. Ten years ago I worked with the very first home group meeting that is now building its own facility. It’s quite a joy to see this as I think about all the days of house to house evangelism that made this happen. I pray the Lord continue to bless Pastor Nicolas in Pico Bonito as he serves the Lord Jesus.
Last but not least, I had a wonderful meeting with North American missionary with BIMI who is serving the Lord in the town of El Progresso. I got some valuable information for current missions operations that will be a tremendous help in our return to Honduras. I thank our Lord Jesus for this brother and his heart.
Thank you to everyone who prayed for me during this trip. – Mr. __
